Jei Mitchell is an engaging and expressive personality both on and off stage. Her diverse resume includes opera, musical theatre, oratorio, recital, choral, television/film, and recordings. She has performed throughout the Midwest in productions with Bowen Park Opera, Chicago G&S Opera Society, Music by the Lake, Genesis Opera, and The Goldenrod Showboat. Favorite roles include Patience in Patience, Sophie in Werther, Christine in Phantom!, Sister Amnesia in Nunsense, and Ado Annie in Oklahoma!
A versatile musician, Jei has been a featured soloist for a range of concerts from sacred works such as Mendelssohn's Elijah and Rutter’s Requiem to recitals of Broadway songs. She has also performed as a chorister with some of the most elite choruses in Chicago and St. Louis. Critics have described her as having a “lovely voice, a deft comic touch and lots of enthusiasm…”
Jei holds a BBA in International Business from the University of Texas at Austin and currently resides in the St. Louis, Missouri area. She has taught private voice lessons for over ten years in both the high school setting and in her private studio.
